Minister Bhatta inspects market
A market monitoring team led by the Minister of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS) Lekh Raj Bhatta on Sunday inspected the wholesale stores based in Kuleshwor in the capital suspecting embezzlement in the eve of festival season.
The monitoring team sealed Bikki Stores and one another wholesale shop as they did not cooperate with the team and for running away from the scene during inspection, according to a member of the team.

FNCCI condemns restart of syndicate system
Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) urged the government to take action against the transport entrepreneurs who are involved in syndicate system.
Issuing a press statement, FNCCI said that though the government as well as the Supreme Court had already directed to dissolve the syndicate system citing it illegal practice, some transporters in Bara, Parsa and Rupendehi districts have forcefully restarted the system.

Nepal Telecom offers discount for festive season
Nepal Telecom (NT) has announced discount in its various services in view of the festive season.
The NT has offered 50 percent waiver in GSM and CDMA phone services within the same network.
Similarly, the company has also slashed the service charge of SMS to 50 paisa from Re. 1 with the beginning of Dashain festival from September 28 to October 6 and Tihar October 26-31.

Man killed in daylight shooting in capital
A man has been killed in a shooting near Tri-Chandra College in Ghantaghar, Kathmandu this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Faizal Ahmad, general secretary of Islamic Sangh Nepal.
Ahmad, who was immediately rushed to Bir Hospital for treatment after he was shot, died while undergoing treatment, according to the police.
