Kalu Gurung arrested in Unity case from Pokhara
Police have arrested a real estate agent Kalu Gurung from Pokhara Tuesday evening in connection with Unity Life International case.
Pokhara police arrested Gurung at 6 pm Tuesday from Nagdhunga, Pokhara upon the request of Lalitpur police. Gurung has already been sent to Lalitpur for further investigation.
Lalitpur police had written to Pokhara police to arrest Gurung on charges of fraud. They have suspected Kalu as the chief aide of the main accused Kashiram Gurung.
A joint team of police and revenue officials had found documents showing Unity had given Rs 100 million to Gurung to purchase land.
Gurung has denied his involvement in Unity saying he was only involved in buying land for them in capacity of a real estate agent.
The main accused in the Unity case including Kashiram Gurung, Bishnu Chhetri and Krishna Chhetri are still at large.
